The Cancer Epigenetics Program (CEI) at Fox Chase Cancer Center serves as a locally based national hub for epigenetics study and collaboration focused on mechanisms promoting cancer and therapeutic resistance. Dr. Whetstine is the founding director of the institute. The Whetstine laboratory is investigating how altering the DNA environment promotes changes that impact cancer cell resistance to therapy as well as how these changes can be used to alter therapeutic trearments. The Whetstine laboratory goal is to uncover mechanisms driving cancer, and in turn, novel biomarkers and drug targets to better treat cancer. Your gift will fund this groundbreaking cancer epigenetics research in the Whetstine laboratory.
