The 2019 IVV Special Pledge will directly support translational research, where scientists take their findings in the lab and identify innovative applications in the clinic to improve cancer treatment, bringing clinical observations back to the laboratory. Often referred to as "bench to bedside," translational research bridges the gap between knowledge produced in the lab and its use in the clinic, acting as an incubator for new ideas and discoveries.
